Die vreugde om die Curriebeker te wen is iets ysliks.  Dis ‘n wonderlike gevoel.
Ek wil eerstens hulde bring aan die WP-spelers wat in die eindstryd gespeel het.  Elkeen was ‘n held en elkeen het ‘n reuse-bydrae gelewer  sodat die Curriebeker weer vanjaar in die Kaap is.

This week-end has the potential to be one of the biggest and proudest in the history of the WP Rugby Union.
All 3 WP teams (u.19; u.21 and Currie Cup) will play in the finals of the three national competitions.  The fact that all 3 WP teams reached the finals of the national competitions shows us that the structures and systems are in place.

The DHL Western Province Amateur side has been named for Saturday's Amateurs 'final' against the Golden Lions at Coca-Cola Park (kick-off 16h30).

Both WP (the Southern Amateurs champions) and the Lions (the Northern Amateurs winners) have already played, and won, against Griquas (the Central champions) - making Saturday an effective winners-takes-all finale to determine the 2012 National Amateur champions.

On Saturday the WP Currie Cup Team will play in the semi-finals against the Lions. The WP team was very impressive last week-end against the Cheetahs and they must stand a very good chance to reach the finals.
