RE:Helderberg
I heard from one of the guys playing at Helderberg that they were very disappointed with this season but it looks like 90% of the squad will stay for at least one more year (including those who are "retyring") if they dont get better offers from somewhere else. Yes their captain is a good player but no he is not the glue of the team. There are a lot of very good youngsters that is there and they are learning quickly. Whatch out for Berge next year....

RE:Helderberg
i believe most of the players are staying. Truter, Coetzee, and Chuck included. Martin Truter had an awesome 1st season at Helderberg and im sure he was offered a few contracts, but i dont believe its about the money for him. this guy just wants to play the game! good luck to the new coaching staff for next year. watch out for helderberg! there are some really talented youngsters!

RE:Helderberg
Kakkerlakkie wit hall due respect I honestly dont think Helderberg will end up like Kraaie, they have been performing consistenly during the past few seasons (although it might not be consistently winning), they tend to keep avaoding that relegation battle. In my opinion yes i feel they are seriously under achieving and yes if they are not careful they might get relegated to SLB. If you look at their history the moment they get relegated they manage to get their house in order and immediatly gain promotion, which shows they can be a winning team, i just feel they should work much harder of the field first then a hundred times harder on it.
as for your team SKW, dont be surprised if you guys are fighting to avoid relegation next season. Things havent gone your guys ways and you might have the bulk of your team for next season its no secret that most of them were not happy at the club during the past season. I even heard of players that didnt want to return next year.
Oh and just so you know i am not a Helderberg player/suporter/member i am rather fond of SKW.

RE:Helderberg
Wolf & Lofty, with all due respect guys my playing days have ended years ago. Like i said i am not involved with your or any other club, i just stated what i heard from some of your players and yes surely their is guys you would "want" to leave and i am glad alot of players want to join your club as that can only be healthy for the future of your club. I apologise if i upset anybody that was never my intention guys. Goodluck with your AGM and i sincerely hope your club have a better season next year. I like the brand of rugby your club is known for and would like to see your club doing as well and beter then what they did two three years back.

some players will be leaving, but i think those are players with sour grapes and not true club players...maybe they just go after money

RE:Helderberg
I must say the comments here are indicative of the total lack of knowledge by many of those posting here. First and foremost Helderberg need to be commended for staying up as long as they have. With a smaller budget than pretty much anyone else in the SLA.
They have shown to be extremely competitive and especially this season showed glimpses of what was possible. Perhaps depth was not their strength, however they never lacked commitment in the games I watched.
On the player front, my understanding is that Hammies have already signed a player (or two) of theirs and other Southern Suburbs clubs have expressed interest in the playing staff at Helderberg.
Another SLA side has been extremely busy in recruiting players for the 2011 season.

RE:Helderberg
you should watch out for Berge this season. few new players coming in, "older" guys with experience staying, new coaching staff. think if everything gels they could be up for great things this season. only know of 3 or 4 players leaving so not that bad. will see what happens...

The wheels are in motion for next season as we speak. Some exciting times lay ahead. Unfortunately the first casualty of the past season was our ever faithful 1st team manager, who has moved clubs. We wish him all the best with his next role.

RE:Helderberg
It's black on white, Iaan Coetzee, Martin Truter and Ashwill Peters has signed at Hammies for 2011, so Helderberg has lost 3 of their key players, that will be a hard knock for them, luckly The Captain De Wet and Gary Williams decided to stay another season. Rumours are (don't know if this is true) Hammies tried to sign De Wet and Super prop Chuck, but they both declined. Luckly Berge has one Great prop left, though, they need to go shopping for at least 2 or 3 more, because the rest are crap. They definitly need a lock or 2. Enough looseforwards. They are in need of a decent fullback beacause the others do not even get close to Iaan. Rumours are the wings don't seem eager to play, so they must search some youngsters as well.
