RE:SLA Results - 28th August 2010
well well well
firstly welldone to maties for winning the sla trophy and doing it in style
this maties team where fired up from word go and simply out gunned and outplayed this hammies team that tried but could not match the maties intensity....
i would say maties have laid down the challenge and in style regarding the club champs, hammies know what to expect and hopefully can bounce back with a good solid win over the old foe villagers next week
1st time in a long time i see this hammies team taking a proper hiding like this, back to the drawing board, not a train smash, but hopefully everybody that needs to learn something out of this will, its a great challenge to fix...
welldone to hammies 2nd team for winning the league with a game to spare
hats off to the players and coaching staff (hein and frikkie) for doing a sterling job in winning this trophy...

Has any SLA team done worser than this Jack Parow coached NNK span. I can't beleive it. They are poorly trained, onfiks. Will they even last in the SLB? Doubt it.

nnk boys played with courage , they are unfit, and the gameplan
well , they cant play it because they are unfit...
bontie has served his time at nnk, apity its "ended" like this
time for fresh blood in the committe and coaching staff
hopefully , most of the players from this year have been "re-signed"
with a few additions, nnk need to re-group with what they have, get players they have fit and add to that player group...
slb no cake walk....

Fats, you are 100% correct Hammies 2nds have secured the league. Well done to Jason 'Bus' O'Brien who started off as 3rd team captain because there was emphasis on youth in the 2nds, he skippered the 2nds to the league. Proving that there is no substitute for experience.

The logs were not updated last week, Durbell 2 earned 5 points against Maties and 1 point vs UCT, finishing on 67 points. Unless there was a mistake on the log as it is at the moment, Hammies 2 still needs the last match to take the league.

hammies vs villagers next week
i will check the logs ...
Our Admin officer recorded a 3rd penalty which was not indicated on the scoreboard, but after consulting with the ref and the Durbell kicker it turned out to be a mistake. UCT 2 had a great escape scoring the converted try from broken play in the very last minute after being behind for just about the whole match. I suppose the loss by 1 point opened the door for Hammies.

The way the Union is managing the logs, it's easy to expect some confusing approaching the business end of the league.
Some disputes might also be on the cards.

jean...well i guess that hammies 2nds just to be sure need to go to villagers and get there win to "really" secure the league...
apity about your result jean durbell 2nds..
would have been great to see this league go down to the wire
without all the confusion...
