Springbok Women vs NZ Women
What/who/where/How???? The game was a disgrace for Womens rugby. The commentators said that SA is busy with developing womens rugby. Hello!!!! Ive played in 2004/2005 & 2006 and we were not development sides then. This year WP has been top and Maties has won the varsity cup.Where is that top players. Can someone please tell me where that girls are coming from cause they cant play the flippen game.

RE:Springbok Women vs NZ Women
I fully agree. I was totally flabbergasted to see the calibre of players representing SA at such a prestigious event. Fair enough, that the game is being developed but do we have to just take developing players. Ever heard of mix and match? If it was cricket the score (55 for 3)would not be too bad, but the basics were poorly lacking. What are the response of the officials involved with this side after the 1st match. I dont know much about Wales but surely Australia will be setting themselves a target of at least 50 points.

RE:Springbok Women vs NZ Women
Ek is sommer baie ontsteld want toe ek einde 2006 uittree weens beserings was daar baie jong beter spelers as ek.

RE:Springbok Women vs NZ Women
amatuers vs proffesionals...
fair enuff , 1st world cup, but send the players that are atleast fit and look like boks, how about knowledge of the rules..
very embarassing display by the woman..
tuff task to begin against the champs nz, but its a world cup
agree with most in here, not a place for development..
who ate all the pies???...hmmm
no 11, i have seen a piece of paper blow across the field with more oomff
inthe tackle..
fowards..cool haircuts, can anybody fit into there tops..
whats with canterbury, i have never seen such deep navels in my life..
my tiskan pie nearly gooied..
revamp this team...simple
i must admit, and i might get into trouble here
but i am not a fan of woman playing rugby, it just looks wrong..
let the debate begin..

Just shows what will happen if affirmative sporting administrations are left alone to do what they want.
It is a total lack of respect to a proud sporting nation.
Would love to know what this trip cost? who paid for it? and who else got free rides on the side to go overseas? (aunts, uncles, next door neighbours)

RE:Springbok Women vs NZ Women
efc, thats going to be one hell of a debate bud..goodluck
i am just concentratingon therugby..
bottom line the boks where poor,
physically poor, knowledege of the rules where poor
basically embarassing, which is apity
as i have watched the wp woman on occassion
and they seem to play to a structure, everybody knows there job
and everybody can play the game, wp did pretty well this year
how many players are in the bok setup?
like i said, not a fan of womans rugby, but there are better players out there.

RE:Springbok Women vs NZ Women
Below is a an extract of an interview with the coach
"Question: Denver, can you please tell us a bit more about the star players in your squad? You’ve also talked about conditioning recently – how important is this going to be in the World Cup? Sally Craig.
Denver answers: The core of the team comes from the Eastern Cape, where the Women’s Game is very popular. Western Province and the Blue Bulls also have a couple of players in the squad. The players are not full-time and most have day jobs, so they must juggle their rugby commitments with their training schedule. They are however very committed and they follow our training, fitness and conditioning programme to the letter. We have put a lot of emphasis on conditioning because we do not play regularly together, and I also believe that fitness will be key to any good performances."
what a joke
anyway the women play wales this afternoon

RE:Springbok Women vs NZ Women
A few months ago we had the Captain and Coaches of the WP Womens team in studio. They had just won the Currie Cup against the Blue Bulls at Villagers. We were told that all the WC players did not play in the CC as they were in camp. They were apparently withdrawn from the CC to prepare for World Cup.
The WP captain also told us that EP were the strongest side, but because their players were withdrawn from the CC, they battled.
When EP was at full strength, they beat WP 52-5.
Judging from this, it seems that the best players were picked for the WC. It is just an indication of how poor the women's game is in this country.
I remember seeing WP playing against Border when Collegians played at Kuils River.
Even the WP flyhalf looked like a prop.
Judging from what I saw on that day, I think women's rugby need to attract more players.
I have heard that the game will from now on be played at schools.
So guys, I think we a bit harsh here. The best are playing but we are years behind the rest of the world.

RE:Springbok Women vs NZ Women
EFC, how often do you watch and how much do you know about womens rugby. I am sure they were as poor as you guys say, but EFC to throw around a term like 'affirmative sporting administrators' as the reason for the poor play and aunts and uncles getting free rides. Your statements are mind boggling.
Think before you ink.
