You’re spot-on Naunu.
If you do a survey today I won’t be surprised to find an increase to N.Z.Rugby support amongst the ‘coloured / black‘ group after Saturday’s dismal performance.
In those communities two support groups exist, viz.;
(1) The more younger group who appreciate the N.Z. brand of intelligent , creative & entertaining rugby.And..
(2) The more older senior group.Those guys who fought the old repressive system and who continue supporting N.Z. cause of the absence of ‘genuine transformation’ in S.A. and W.P. Rugby. They also appreciate the N.Z. brand of Rugby.
In my view ‘genuine transformation’ is the root cause of the dilemma facing S.A.and W.P. Rugby.
The old repressive Rugby structures ( from schools rugby to senior provincial and national rugby are still firmly in tact .You don’t need a to be a rocket scientists to understand that ;
“One cannot produce NEW and TRANSFORMED results today if you continue using the same old formula (the same old repressive structures) you had in place and failed yesterday” .
I refuse to accept that we do not have a Sonny Bill or a Jonah Lomu somewhere in the Cape flats or in our Townships … bear in mind that the existing W.P. structures failed to find them in Bishops, Wynberg boys and the other ‘selective’ schools who up till today continue to control the management of the old and unchanged W.P.youth Rugby structures.
