Surely Nizaam Carr is good enough & can provide "explosiveness from the bench", as Alistair Coetzee puts it!

Honestly think they could have given Carr a shot, based on his performance at the JWC. I actrually thought he was better than Kolisi anyway.

There's surely something fishy going on in SA rugby, they speak of transformation, but they overlook players who are performing. Who deserve to be in the various squads.

Carr was by far the best SA U/20 player at the JWC, but yet he gets overlooked for a player who was just average. I mean the commentators were even praising him. What's going on???

I agree Mo. Just shows their thinking - by first going outside, when there is enough home talent in the system.

Average player!!!!!!!! take your blinkers off. would you rather have a player with no super rugby experience playing in a semi final or a player with experience, been named one the players of the year overseas, and has experience at various positions in your squad.

Why don't you just concentrate on organising your silly little round robin of your clubs of colour that you where boring me with in the other topic. You complain when you get left out of things, but what you doing now....IDIOT

Bad call from Stormers

This man is not even a loose forward
Rassie tried him there before and he failed dismally

What about other fllankers who are in the system. Here one think of Yaya Hartzenberg, Jody Burch, Hilton Lobberts, Nick fenton Wells?

RE:SCHALK BRITS ON LOAN TO THE STORMERS
In my opinion , i think our WP / Stormers executive should catch a wake up. They need to Invest in the local talent that has proven their worth in the so called SA Youth ranks. Its not about race or colour but about the young and ever impressive talent that have left our shores of Cape Town . WHY????
They employed Rassie ( Who did well and must be respected but.... at what costs.) from "outside our province" to improve the rugby in our province. What a slap in the face to the other coaches and Rugby Youth developers in Cape Town. The people of Cape Town deserve better. ( NOT ABOUT RACE).

I really dont understand this move.... on loan to cover for a loose forward....

Ok so lets imagine there are NO looseforwards in WP to cover the current injuries. Possible??? perhaps for this argument's sake
(and by the way If  I was a "fringe" loose forward here in WP I would pack my bags and look at another province because the intent is very clear on what the Stormers coaching staff think about the current "fringe" players)

Fine so the stormers need to find a replacement loose foward outside of the western province region. What do they do? Get a loosie from Boland, Griquas, perhaps somebody from a varsity cup team up north? A quick loan agreement  from a fringe loosie from another super 15 union? NO!
They go and select a hooker!!! from the UK nogals (how good he might be is irrelevant to me) to cover the loosies "problem".

Doesn't make sense at all! (I wonder what might happen next, a scrumhalf gets injured and they import a lock who has a good left and right spin pass to cover the injury?)

RE:SCHALK BRITS ON LOAN TO THE STORMERS

Britz has just had an amazing season in the UK, one of the top performers. He was also a long time servant of WP rugby and did his schooling here. As far as I am concerned he should always be welcomed back.

However if it is a loose forward we are looking for, there are plenty available localy. Nizaam had a great tournament but Kolisi has been the outstanding young talent in the W/Cape the whole season. Despite this I would chose neither. There is a massive step up to super rugby and we are talking semi-final here. I would go for someone like Yaya Hartzenberg, who has paid his dues and also has the physicality and some experience to survive at that level. Elstad could play flank, he is mobile and I am sure he has played there before.  He would give us more lineout options.
