WP Currie Cup VS Combined SLA and SLB team
Watching the type of rugby Province played last night was so frustrating to say the least it is no wonder that the fans dont want to watch them anymore. Seeing that the Currie Cup team consist of mainly Ikey and Matie players i started to wonder how they would perform over two week period against a combined team from both the SLA and SLB. Maybe then would Rassie and Allistair's eyes open and give more club rugby players a chance to play for their beloved Province. Just wish that this can come true. The combined team would and can beat this Currie Cup Side. Maybe the Stormers will then play less warm up games against Ikeys and Maties

Great idea, would love to see who would feature in this team. You would never have a consensus as to the exact SuperClub team lineup.
WP would never take the game though, they wouldnt risk being shown up by amateurs / semi pro's.

RE:WP Currie Cup VS Combined SLA and SLB team
This will never happen. I remember in the mid 90's WP use to have a light KOPPE STAMP with junior clubs and on this one such evening WP practised against Goodwood and the media where all there. Goodwood then played PLA. The Goodwood team stole balls at break down points and lost their own lineout balls, the following day there was a huge write-up in the media "SECOND DIVISION CLUB EXPOSE WP WEAKNESS" . That satuerday they played OVS in the semi's of the currie cup and lost the match. That was the last time WP ever practised against a junior club. Are there better players in the lower leagues? Without a doudt. Think Rassie is just preventing his players of being exposed. I do think that a "Club'S 15" made up of players nominated by variuos clubs should play in the SLA. Playing wednesday evenings against all clubs in the SLA. This will give these players the chance to be tested and exposed to the so called best players in the province. These players then are available for thier clubs for the saturday club matches if needed. I am sure these players are in any case fitter than many playing in the SLA.I promise you that this team will within a few weeks of playing together start beating all the big clubs. The difference is that these players play for the love of the game and not for the money. Feel free to comment. I have already worked out that such a team playing in the SLA will not extend the season, will only add 2 extra matches.

RE:WP Currie Cup VS Combined SLA and SLB team
I thought Province played some exciting and enjoyable to watch rugby on Friday night. A good away win with a very young team,
I like both ideas of WP playing combined team and of a lower league combination playing in the SLA. Bothe have merits. However the Maties/Ikeys start conditioning in December and when they play the warm ups against Stormers, it is around 15 January. I doubt any of the clubs will be in a position to put a team on the park then? ALso they dont play the "Stormers" as such but the fringe players.
I can remember WP B beating WP A many times in warm up/practice matches. The fact is the A players know they are better but want to get to the match uninjured, the B team players need to prove a point. If it were a true match the B team or any club would be well beaten.
The comment re Rassie is ludicrous

RE:WP Currie Cup VS Combined SLA and SLB team
Guys, you can only compare teams and players when they play each other on the same field or against the same opposition. Many a player will look good in a SLB or PLA match where he has more time than at Currie Cup level. You can see this when players move up from Currie Cup to Super rugby to international rugby. Every step up is huge and not anyone can handle it.
