Rag Rugby
@JPNaude; Please get someone that understands and that was part of the rag to explain to you what it was all about. Maybe get someone into the studio. The main rag was between Caledonian Roses and Young Stars. that will do justice

RE:Rag Rugby
Yes please, cos they had it all wrong last night. Rag was never stars & Kloof or Hamediahs - That is Derby games...
I grew up with Rag so that was very frustrating when they didnt know wat it exactly was and where it came from...
Get of the people that was involve in the organising of the Rag to explain what the history holds to it...

RE:Rag Rugby
It also was not just another Sunday of rugby matches being played. It was the match of the year for every player involved. Practice sessions were harder than ever and everyone played to get in the first team. So, can they please get members of Callies and Stars on the show to clarify and expand on Rag Rugby!

And even if Stars or Callies lost through the whole league - they would die on the field just to win the rag...
Children singing, band playing - you have to be there to experience it...

RE:Rag Rugby
Cape rugby TV is a good programme. But there are just too many inaccuracies.
What is dissapointing is that the Deputy CEO of WP Rugby Mr Herman Abrahams did not even know about the history of the rag.
JP if you want real journalists who know about club rugby in the community on your show, why not get Boeta Synie ABrahams on your show. He is a man who has covered club rugby since 1976.
I consider Boeta Synie as my mentor and a guru when it comes to club rugby and cricket.

And what an experience it is/was to stand in front of the stands while the bands are playing the music and the kids and the supporters sing the War Cry of the two teams. On the field it was tough and hard, but all for charity. Once the match is over Stars and Callies would be pallies again.

Of the 8 times that Egon Seconds was there on the show, they could have gotten 8 diffrent coaches and and least someone that knows what the Rag is.

@Akka. You just showing what a idiot you are. The question was posted on the Cape Rugby TV Show "What is Rag". The answer that was given was not the correct answer. I just felt we need someone to explain exactly what it is. So stop looking for K@# and get a life you moron.

There is a place for Rag.
Just like we have Intervarsity and the Villager vs Hammies Derby at the beginning of each season, the Rag should be an institution.
Nothing wrong with it

Josh i could not agree more with you what a feeling its is when you come out of the tunnel standing infront of your team singing your war cry and then the biggest game start bigger then a test game bigger then a provincial game bigger then any league game the track packed to the max Stars and Callies Akka there was and there will be nothing bigger then the rag broe.
