Dollie
Ek hoop die Dollie brigade gaan nou vir eens en altyd stil bly

Saterdag was hy uiters swak teen die Luiperds. Om vervang te word deur 'n skrumskakel is baie sleg. En net toe hy van die veld af is toe speel die span weer met ritme. Dis nou bewys die rugby kenners is nie verkeerd nie. Die seun is swak en 'n verleentheid vir sy brigade

...I don't want to be negative towards Dolly and I do believe he is a good club rugby player but I can not help but to think that he is just a little too light in the pants to be really taken serious in the 10 channel.  Yes, I'm not saying that he can not tackle, in fact he tackles quite well but I don't think he will be able to stop the likes of Bakkies, Spies, Burger, Willem Alberts, etc. in the 10 channel.  If I was a top team and he is palying in the 10 channel I would run thea channel till I cant anymore...imagine someone like Sunny Bill Williams running on him, he will get his pass away 100% of the time.
I hope you guys understands what I am trying to say...thanx

Now that is constructive criticism whether i agree with your opinion is something different but nevertherless constructive unlike the other post. I must say hedid not miss a tackle on SAT and i dont know when if you can remember when he played for the Spears again the Stormers Schalk actually attacked that channel the whole day and was stopped everytime. Also when Boland beat WP ( can anyone remember that) WP attacked that channel the whole day but he stood his man..my opinion

Ok, no offence and not a dollie fan but try explaining this again to me……. “He tackles quite well but” maybe he cant tackle quite well??? So he doesn’t tackle well or does he tackle well??? Or is it just knit picking here?

As if Catarakilis can tackle, he don't even attempt to tackle and he is only a good kicker. Don't be haters give all a fair chance like you give the Lionel Cronje's and others......Go Dollie show the haters

Yes, you say give Dollie a chance and then you have a go at Catarakilis....makes sense? I never watched the game so cant comment on Dollie. I did watch Catarakilis and he can tackle very well. Always puts his body on the line for his team. To me he is a very good passer of a rugby ball and the ability to put players in space and takes the ball up well. I rate him highly.

RE:Dollie
I went to Newlands on Saturday to go watch this game and see first hand how Isma-eel Dollie did
He was solid and had a good game.
Overall WP battled and the game was too loose

Dolli'es goalkicking was very good.

There is justone aspect of his game that dissapointed me. But that is just me. That is the type of person I am and it is what I expect from people. My wife often tell me I expect to much and look for things that is just not there.

I wanted him to be more vocal. Especially on defence. To have communicated more and better with those inside and outside of him. Defence is not only about your own tackling but how you organise those around you.
Delegate the tackling to others and tell them where to go.
That is what the great flyhalves do

But overall he should be satisfied. It was a good start

RE:Dollie
Dollie is a good club level player and were good at junior levels, but his just not making the cut at the higher level. He had he's chances and did not use them for and agianst WP.
Support the guy, and keep a eye on him, work on his short commings and who knows??????????????

RE:Dollie

I too was at the game on saturday, i felt he had a good first outing at newlands. I think he needs time to settle

Kicked well! 100% accuracy, Awesome stuff!

He deserves another chance in the 10 jumper

RE:Dollie
When Catarakilis made the squad most of you people were up in arms over the selection process, I would like to know what Dollie has done in club rugby this year to justify his selection in the squad? and for that matter what team he does play for.

RE:Dollie
I don't want to get involved in this debate, but here is something that I picked up in a response to a "Rugby 365" article on Dollie. It was written some time back.

@Jakes, I think he is with SK now, but I could be wrong.

Oblivion is not an excuse for ignorance!
The large amount of negative comments relating to Dollie is very unfortunate indeed. The majority of the comments on this blog are extremely biased with no attempt made to present the facts in a fair and objective manner. I presume the same people who have made these comments where the same ones who had a mouthful to say about PdV. So, to prevent you guys continuously embarrassing yourselves, I will briefly outline Dollie’s record-
Dollie was a key member of the SA under 19 squad and kicked the winning drop goal in final of the IRB-under 19 world cup against New Zealand. At under 21 level, Dollie excelled at the IRB-under 21 world cup. He was the top points scorer in the tournament (76 points), produced a man-of-the match performance against New Zealand in the semi-final and was unfortunately injured in the final. He was the best flyhalf in the tournament that featured many current international flyhalves. One would have thought that a player with such pedigree and playing record would have been groomed and nurtured for higher honours. But not in South Africa! When Dollie represented Boland in the currie cup in 2007, he practically kept them in the premier division of the currie cup. He had excelled in a substandard team and was the 4th highest scorer in the currie cup. This resulted in him being awarded a super 14 contract with the Stormers. However, the subsequent arrival of Tony Brown resulted in Dollie not playing a single super 14 game. He thus played Vodacom cup and ended as the top points scorer in the tournament with 125 points. This led to him being chosen in PdV’s extended Springbok squad and later represented the Emerging Springboks. When he had returned from national duty, WP had signed Willem de Waal at a time when Dollie was meant to be given an extended run in the currie cup. After warming the bench for 3 consecutive games without a minute’s play, Dollie went back on loan to Boland. Injury had unfortunately prematurely ended his campaign there . Whilst at the Brumbies, the head coach (Andy Friend), had personally informed me that he was extremely impressed with the skillset and work ethic of Dollie. As the Brumbies already had 2 fit Aussie flyhalves (Leallifano and Toomua), the ARU would not have issued a player clearance for a foreign player. This is the ONLY reason why we did not see Dollie in this year’s super 14! We should also remember that PdV had on numerous occasions expressed his admiration for Dollie. In view of the Springbok’s performance under PdV, I certainly will believe our national coach’s opinion on a player!
